Demo Ride: 2016 Ducati Hypermotard 939

I’m not sure what I was expecting with this bike, but it was a lot of fun to ride around town. I found the throttle and mapping by far the most interesting of all the bikes I’ve ever ridden.

The upright riding posture, and the dirtbike components make for one Hell of a Supermoto. I wouldn’t consider this for a primary, but believe it would make for a great second bike. While not responding with as punch as the Scrambler, it’s still a blast to crack open the throttle. I couldn’t tuck into it, or lean into the corners like a sport bike, and left wanting more coming out of the turns.

What I loved was the low speed control, and low end torque the bike offered in abundance. The Hypermotard is an absolute wheelie machine, and I found myself constantly picking the front wheel up. I had absolutely no intention of getting one of these things, but after this test ride, I am awfully tempted.
