This will be the final post for this Wordpress version of Fragments of Memories. I know I haven’t uploaded anything for ’bout 3 months. And I am sorry for that but really it’s hard to post anything when I don’t go out and shoot anything. The photo’s I’ve taken are mostly for my school which I am not uploading here x.x
Anyway, this doesn’t spell the end of Fragments of Memories. I am thinking of making the site using iWeb and .mac for the next ‘version’ of the site but before that I have to start shooting. Well until then, it’s goodbye. I really am sorry to have let one person down, sorry Rosie ^^. Gomen nasai~
Anyway, the site has some problems in that you can’t see the photos from the WordPress posts however, you can still see them through the gallery.

Sorry for the lack of updates but finally I got my lazy self to finally pick a few photo to put up. This ’series’ is from Disney On Ice: Finding Nemo. So for those who missed it, well maybe you can see what it was like.

Ok first sorry for the lack of updates and if I do have updates you know that I would be updating it. But I thought I’ll explain why there is a lack of updates.
Ever since this year, updates have been lacking and there are reasons. First is my lifestyle. If you read my about page, you know I’m a teacher. Before I was working in the morning but this year I am working in the afternoon. So things have changed a bit. I don’t get much time to go and shoot.
Morning is usually reserved to prepare my work, and night is time spent with my family. I used to shoot a lot in the 4pm to 6pm timeslot but that is now gone since I started working in the afternoon. I suppose I could do with night photography but here comes the second reason.
Its boring to shoot alone haha. This is a bit of a hypocritical statement because I’m generally a loner. But before I shoot a lot with my brother but now he’s in Temburong.
So in a way, because of the available time is at the time which I am lazy to go out and shoot, there isn’t much to update. It’s not that I’ve given up on photography (though I am pursuing some other stuff and I am gaming a lot these days). I suppose I’m in a holiday mood for my photography.
However, I hope to be able to go out in June to take some photos. If there are no problems with going out of country in June because I want to go to Temburong and see what I can shoot there and to do that I need to go through Limbang….
Lastly, sorry if you guys or gals have been waiting for updates. I would if I have, believe me. Just that at the moment my life is also in a bit of need for reorganizing (along with my room too it’s so messy).

Just to pass along that currently at UBD they are having a Japan Culture week (not really sure the real name of the event). I’m sure some of you have read it from the newspaper. If you are into Japanese culture or anime (yes, there’s an anime booth which hold quite a bit of my stuffs haha).
I went there this afternoon to snap some photos. But I will not be uploading them till after the event because I don’t want people to not go because they already look at my photos. (Though in all probability that isn’t gonna affect much but I’m not taking chances.)
There will be demonstration on the Tea ceremony and Calligraphy (17th @ 2:30pm / 18th @ 1:00pm). Also tomorrow (17th), there are airing ‘Train Man Special’ at 12:15pm so perhaps you might be interested.
Last but not least, there’s gonna be the first Kendo Tournament at the Indoor Stadium, Berakas on the 24th and 25th of March, 2007.
Ok I lied, here are a few teaser photo.
Ikebana -

Kendo -

Origami -

Anime -

(If I’m not mistaken, everything in the photo is mine! lol except for the mask and the stationeries. Not sure bout the blue CD)

Pre-PMA announcements ~
Nikon announced the AFS DX 55-200mm VR f/4.0-5.6.
Personally I’m not interested since I have the 18-200mm VR.
Also Nikon announced the D40X which has a 10MP sensor (vs 6MP in D40). Also it has lower ISO settings starting from 100 as well as a faster shooting frame rate at 3FPS.
Again not really interested because I’m broke and if I have money I’ll shell out for something along the D200 line. Hehe. But otherwise, for those planning to grab a new dSLR, the D40X is something to look out. Who knows, you might get a better deal for a D40 if you’re not too demanding.

On another note, I know I haven’t been updating much recently mainly (at first) because of gaming but now I’m busy with school stuffs. I have some photos from the NBT Chinese New Year decoration but it’s on hold for now because I haven’t got the time to go through them and do some exposure correction haha.
Also expect another article coming. Also I did an article on Next-gen consoles but forgot to make a post about it.
I guess for now I’ll be on leave for a bit. I promise to get the photos and article up by this term holiday i.e starting 16 March onwards (plus minus a few days)
Cheers
p.s. Oh just remembered I did do some photos except it’s about my new Wii console. Photos aren’t really ‘artistic’ but it’s something to kill time haha. Head over to Bluetears.nu and browse around. (I know it’s not really photography but … who knows, you might like it, hehe)

Today is a sad day…
I accidentally dropped my Macbook Pro. I don’t really know what happened. I was ‘wrestling’ with the power cord and then (I thought) put my MBP on the table and let go, but (maybe) it wasn’t stable and it slipped to the ground in a 2 feet drop. The amazing thing was it didn’t produce any notable sound …(though it gave me false hope)
Here’s what happened ~
Since it’s a huge cost to replace the cover (probably between 700 - 1000? not sure) I decided to at least try to dent it back a bit so I can close the cover. And here’s the final product. Not the prettiest but at least I can close the cover. Actually I’m lucky nothing was damaged other than the cover.
Opening up the MBP

The final product

So here’s the lesson. Never never drop your MBP especially at the corners. So will I buy another MBP? Of course! It’s still the best laptop around for me! Actually thinking of getting a 15″ one because this is quite a beast to haul it back and forth haha.
